Hello people, that is me in the right corner there on the couch with my feet crossed and with my friends Tanner, Joe and Stevie-Ray next to me. The one on the orange couch in the middle is Asbjorn. This is Piper's Lodge where we stayed on our school trip. It was meanage!!

Today we built Mt Ruapehu in the sandpit. We also made the Whangaehu River valley, the plain below the mountain and the railway bridge at Tangiwai. We wanted to learn how the lahar destroyed the bridge in 1953 causing the Tangiwai Disaster. Kora and Ariana poured lots of water into the crater we had made on top of our mountain. It whoosed down the side of the mountain and into the river valley. The bridge collapsed and bits of our train fell into the river. After that, we watched a short video about what do do if you are on Mt Ruapehu when the lahar siren sounds.  Now I know how to keep safe from a lahar if one happens when I am on a mountain.  Here is my Hazard Notice with the most important information.

The Peco Incident Animation.

In term one we red a book called the PECO  incident. we made a animation about  and it is about these two kids and the mum and dad + these two hippies.  they are travelling  and there is a bird flu and it is killing heaps of birds.  it and here it is

Rocket Work

I was waiting nervously for the rocket to arrive. 20 minutes later the steps were waiting for me. I put my white suit on and I put my fish bowl helmet on so I don't suffocate up high by the moon.  Finally I stepped on the step and walked to my seat and sat down and I controlled the rocket and I pressed the start button - starting in 321 blast off!! We shot up in the air. The other people there were waiting outside cheering, hopefully I would make it to Jupiter but I still had 2 days and 9 hours to go.  2 days and 9 hours later I landed on Jupiter.The doors opened for me and I was on the last step and then I was on Jupiter. I fell downa really big hole and   saw  this really big green group of little aliens. I stole a little UFO so I could get out of the big hole. Finally I got out of the hole because that hole was too small for the UFO  and then I got in the rocket went back down to earth. I live.

Times table facts

Hello, we have been doing maths using our multiplication wheels to help us . I know my 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10 times tables. And I don't know my 9,8, 7 times tables .

Poppy

Hello on ANZAC day  I made a poppy.  I started with making the paint, I started making the red paint then the green then black. Then  I cut a bit of an egg carton. Then I painted it.

Yoyo biscuits

Today I learnt how to make yoyo biscuits. I found it a little bit hard to spread the icing because  the icing  started to set.  The colours were purple and green. I found it easy to mix together butter, sugar,
 custard powder ,flour.

Yesterday dad tort me trigonometry. I learnt all the inside angles of the triangle = up to 180.
The outside equals up to 360. I found hard was finding out what the a meant i found esey was adding up the other numbers.

Science 1 Me and my DNA

This term for science we are learning all about how the human body works and how special we all are. We are also trying to learn how to think and act more like a scientist. So, Miss Fletcher asked us to look at our faces in the mirror and write down notes about what we look like. The information had to be precise and clear so that when someone read it, it would help them find the person it described quickly. It was a bit like being a detective. You had to look and notice things carefully.

Miss Fletcher said that what we look like depends on our mother and father. Making a new human is a bit like making a cake.  You get some ingredients from your mum and some from your dad. The ingredients are called DNA. Everybody’s cake is different to everyone else’s. 

Miss Fletcher said the person with the most efficient description was Andrew J as he wrote: My hair is 1cm long all over. He is the only student in Team Moana with a haircut like that so he was able to be identified very easily. You can read my description below. The sentences highlighted in blue are the ones that Miss Fletcher said were not precise and clear enough. Fourteen people said they could recognise me from my description.

Maths 1 Geometry Safari

This term for maths we have geometry. I went on my own
Geometry Safari around the school grounds to find
2D and 3D shapes. Then we had to write what we had found
into a table. Here is a table for you to check out.
